Important MyVideoAnalyser v3.9 update

With today's rollout of MyVideoAnalyser version 3.9 (and above), we have delivered many new features and a massive boost to overall stream connectivity and capture device stability. Our software is now fully up to date with the latest standards, keeping your setup rock solid.

If you use a Blackmagic device, your hardware might require a quick software update to stay fully compatible. We are happy to guide you step-by-step through everything you need for a smooth update.

What has changed?
From version 3.9, MyVideoAnalyser works seamlessly with official Apple camera settings, which just requires a quick update of your Blackmagic software and a few small adjustments in macOS to keep everything running smoothly.

A top tip from us: please take a moment to walk through these steps in advance rather than leaving it until right before a live session. Getting this sorted early ensures everything runs without a hitch when it counts!

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Update your Blackmagic software. Ensure you install Blackmagic Desktop Video version 16.2.
Please note: This version of Blackmagic requires macOS 15 (Sequoia) or newer.
  2. Adjust your macOS permissions
On your Mac, go to System Settings → General → Login Items & Extensions.
Under both Camera Extensions and Driver Extensions, toggle the Blackmagic Design option to ON. If a popup appears under Privacy & Security regarding Blackmagic, simply click Allow.
  3. Restart your Mac
A quick reboot will apply all your changes properly.
  4. Run a quick test
Check your device outside of MyVideoAnalyser first. Open QuickTime Player and select File → New Movie Recording. Click the small arrow next to the record button and check if your Blackmagic device (such as the UltraStudio) appears in the camera list. If your device shows up in QuickTime, you are good to go and everything will work seamlessly in MyVideoAnalyser3.9!

You can download the latest version via the download page. There you’ll also find the complete list of release notes.
